Can I always switch telecom company?

No, the company you order from handles the cancellation with your current company. You are then told the transfer date, and the service is kept from being interrupted during the switch.
If you are renting a new router, you need to collect it. You then return the old router once the new connection is working.
If you are moving a mobile phone, you need to collect a SIM card. If you ordered an eSIM, it is sent straight to your mobile phone.
I have TV with Síminn, Sýn or Nova. Do I lose it if I switch?
No. You can buy TV and use it on home internet from another company. The TV may be more expensive, though, if it is no longer part of a bundle. It is best to check the price of TV when it is not part of a bundle here:
Then add the TV price on top of the telecom price at the company you are considering switching to, and you get the total price.
What happens if I do not rent a router?
Then you need to buy your own router. They are sold by the telecom companies and in electronics stores.
Do I lose my phone number if I switch telecom company?
No, you keep the same number.
